Forest School Enrichment Day
From Roots to Resilience: Nurturing Confidence, Connection, and Well-Being Through Nature
Our Forest School Enrichment Day Program runs on Fridays and is designed specifically for elementary-aged students. Rooted in an urban nature setting, this enriching program fosters a deep sense of reverence for the natural world and encourages respect and care for the environment. Through immersive outdoor experiences, children develop resilience, teamwork, and confidence, while gaining practical, hands-on skills that connect them meaningfully to the rhythms and wonders of nature.
What is Forest / Nature School?
“Forest School is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.”
~ Forest School Association (UK)
Forest School is based on Scandinavian learning theories and the work of Rudolf Steiner, Maria Montessori, and Kurt Hahn, among others. It is an educational philosophy that fosters connection to self, to others, and to the natural environment and develops a sense of belonging.
